LOUISVILLE, KY (February 9, 2015) – Charah®, Inc., a total solutions company providing unparalleled service and innovation for the coal-fired electric utility industry, has been selected as a finalist for the 16th Annual Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) / Willis Construction Safety And Excellence Awards. The AGC Construction Safety and Excellence Awards (CSEA) is an ongoing and evolving effort by AGC to recognize companies who have developed and implemented excellent safety and loss prevention programs achieved through management commitment, employee involvement, and program innovation.
According to the AGC, the purpose of the CSEA is to recognize those construction companies who excel at safety performance. CSEA closely examines each candidate’s commitment to safety and occupational health management and risk control. Unlike the National AGC Safety Awards (NASA) program that limits the criteria to frequency rates, the CSEA selection process is considerably more comprehensive. Judges look for evidence of company management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation.
Charah’s Director of Safety David Valentine will lead a team to present Charah’s safety program during the final judging to be held March 15 – 18, 2015 during AGC’s 96th Annual Convention at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico and winners will be announced at the AGC/Willis Safety Awards Breakfast on March 19, 2015.
“We are honored to be named a finalist by the AGC for our commitment to safety,” said Charles Price, President and CEO of Charah.
